From the first time I met Daniel and Sarah I knew they were completely awesome and that their wedding would be too. They shared the story of how they met at their favorite local comic book shop, and how their friendship eventually blossomed into love and friendship. They told me about the things they have in common as well as their differences that balance them. They told me all about the ways they were making their wedding as unique as they are. They asked a close friend to perform the ceremony and opted for "wedding folk" rather than bridesmaids and groomsmen. As big fans of Parks and Recreation they found ways to incorporate the show. When the day finally came I was so excited to document every special moment and detail for this couple who was clearly so in love. The ceremony was fun and heartfelt. Daniel and Sarah each wrote vows to one another and there were several happy tears and laughs from their family and friends. Before they sealed their vows with a kiss, they downed a shot of Malort and smashed the sugar glasses on the ground! If you've spent time in Chicago you know Malort is the most disgusting liquor in the world, but... it's tradition. I so enjoyed my time spent with these two. Based on the speeches that were made, it was clear how much support they have from their family and friends. Congratulations Daniel and Sarah! I know you'll have an amazing life together and that makes me so happy!
